Finance & Operations Manager - EMEA
An opportunity with a multinational company based in Galway to manage its revenue operations within EMEA.
This individual will oversee all local operations related to revenue recognition, invoicing and reporting and will work collaboratively with the European Controllers in a matrix organization to support the EMEA operations.
The person will report to the local head of finance with a dotted line to finance managers throughout Europe.
The person will partner with them to provide operational guidance to Sales Management of a large and growing organization. The individual must possess solid management and financial, systems skills as well as intercultural experience.
The position will be based in Galway, Ireland.
Role & Responsibilities:
Revenue Accounting: Support company processes and procedures including appropriate use of systems
Maintain knowledge of corporate policies and guidelines including Pricing & Licensing.
Ability to flag, resolve or escalate revenue recognition or contractual contingencies issues
Maintain effective collection practices and clean AR portfolios
Manage a team responsible for local Order Management. Maintain a “hands-on” approach at the transactional level:
Recruit, hire, and train staff.
Consistent use of 1-on-1 with direct reports, give effective feedback, set goals and communicate appropriate expectations.
Proper calibration of staff, performance evaluation and development of personnel. Deal with performance issues in a timely and constructive manner.
Build and develop a team able to scale with rapid growth and development of the business.
Ability to make reasoned judgments that are logical and well thought out while being curious and open to new ideas (critical thinking)
Regional and Global contributions:
Reach out proactively to peers to problem solve and make recommendations for design reviews. Identify and develop local & regional resources to work cross border.
Participate on routine conference calls, communications, and standards setting
Experience with operations and metric-based customer service functions in a high technology software industry and should have supported an externally-facing sales organization.
Chartered Accountant a plus
Should be fluent in English, additional language a plus.
Previous experience in supporting a field sales operation in the IT industry a plus
A progressive work history with exposure to sales reporting, metrics and measurement, order management, P&L understanding, as well as an understanding of customer support requirements and overall interaction with customer base in support of a sales and services business model.
Experience with order management, accounts receivables, sales operations, sales incentive compensation.
Proven people management experience including performance measurement and hiring (preferable in different countries).
Contracts review and revenue recognition for US GAAP and IFRS purposes.
Understanding and exposure to ERP systems, including GL and CRM.
Proven knowledge of sales administration and operations.
Use of analytical and data mining tools.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Good judgment based on solid business acumen.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with multi-cultural business.
